| Warsaw | Warsaw to Vienna - tips/tricks? Posted: Fri February 29, 2008 11:52 PM UTC
Heyo - wanting to get to Vienna from Warsaw via train/bus/your-suggestion, and I need some tips on how to get good tickets for a reasonable price. Any suggestions, or helpful links, or warnings on what NOT to do are greatly appreciated!

If you live in Warszawa than the PKP 29 Euro special "SparDay/SparNight" deal to Vienna is difficult to beat:

Not exactly.
The discaunt plan is for return tickets only, with very strict conditions, and limited in number of tickets offered on each train, not on all trains in this route. The 29 EUR is the cost of a seat in 2-nd class, to seat on it all night long and getting to Vienna with back pain. this is the cost for each direction. Otherwise one can buy "sleepers" place as detailed on table below the basic price. My advice will be: The night train, going once a day (night) from Warsaw to Vienna. If you are young - less then 26 - ask for special discount for youngsters. Pay for a bed in 3 persons compartment and have a good night sleep, saving the cost of the hotel/hostel. This travel agancy "Wasteels" has an office - box office - in central train station in Warsaw. ask them for any other offer they might have.
