Hi, Can anyone tell me when is the cheapest time to go to Cancun?? I am supposed to go tomorrow but cancelled due to personal reason and lost some of the money from the package, we can use the airline ticket within a year so I just want to know which month is the cheapest so that can make up some of the money I lost. Thanks in advance.

High season is Thanksgiving to around Easter (later this year since Easter is early)

The worst time of the year is september. August and October right up there.

May is a good bet for good weather, good prices, fewer tourists. It's hot and humid, but nothing unbearable, especially if you stay near the eater and in the breeze. Which is the idea anyway.

Unless you're a big fan of MTV style nightlife and especially if you like snorkeling and water, consider going to nearby areas like Playa Carmen, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Puerto Morelos instead. All the same airport.

Cheapest may not be the most logical.

Going during the hurricane season adds a risk that bad weather might seriously modify you trip or even completely destroy it.

If you are just going for the beaches, the summer will be hot but bearable, but if you plan to explore the Yucatan you will probably find that away from the ocean the heat and humidity may seem a torture. This type of weather can happen in May and is the rule July through August.

Cheap flights from NY appear periodically except for the Xmas holidays and Easter-Spring break.
