Makati Help ..... Hotel near makati shopping area
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 09:45 PM UTC
Hi,

Im looking for a hotel to stay in makati which is near the shopping area, within my budget somewere between 2,500 - 3,500 a night.

there are lots of travel agency who has discounted rates around glorietta but the rate is valid only until march, and we are going in May the rate is back to more than 6,000.

By the way, I saw hotels between my budget but I read alot of review that they are in the red light district of makati. If we booked in that area, is it close by to walk or do we need to taxi to take us the malls like glorietta.

Can anyone suggest of a clean and decent hotel near the shopping area please.
Badly need any help.
Thanks so much.

I stay in the Ermita area of Manila pretty often. In this area there are many hotels in different price ranges. This area is close to the Robinson Mall, restaurants, travel agencies, supermarkets plus internet shops.

Three hotels on A. Mabini Street are the Lotus Garden 1227 Mabini, the Hotel Frendy 1548 Mabini and the City State Tower Hotel on 1315 Mabini. All of these hotels have air, hot water, private toilet/shower, TV, etc. Easy walk to Robinson Mall, MRT, casinos and stores.

Other hotels in this area are cheaper (still with air, etc.) Book one or two nights and look around for something different.

Other possibilities are the Cherry Blossom, Rosas Garden Hotel and Paragon Tower Hotel.

Can't tell if you are male or female, there are some bars in this area if that makes a difference.

Good luck.

For that budget, you may check Dusit Hotel, New World or Intercon. I doubt that the rates would go to P6000 in May if you go to these hotels directly. Alternatively, you can check Crowne Regency which recently opened; it's also near Glorietta.

The red light district of Makati or Burgos/Jupiter is about 10mins away by cab without traffic. But since this is not the case during daytime, it will take you 20mins or more. Might even be better for you to walk the 2-3 blocks; you can take it in 15mins.

central hotel reservation :) i use this service when i travel. Very convenient. just tell them your preferences and budget, theyll find you a place. plus they even give cheaper rates than the hotel itself. try mine. PHRS 8127477

I also like Agoda.com. Deep discounts and if you book often enough, you will earn credits to offset the cost of your stay. Sorry I can't recommend an actual place, though... I'd be interested in finding such a place myself near the ASIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT

Geoff, AIM offers a hotel-dormitory with room rates within the above range. I think it's called ACCEED.
