I'm going to Canyon de Chelly in April - thought I'd stick around for a day. Any good hikes? Restaurants? Motels? Other tips?

We had a horseback ride in the canyon with a native american, just this guy and the two of us. It was absolutely marvellous although I am not into horseback riding and even afraid of horses LOL

We will visit Canyon de Chelly also (June) and I did a lot of research.This is what I found till yet:
- There is one trail (White House Trail) that you can go IN the canyon without a guide. It descends from an overlook on the south rim into the canyon to a cliff dwellings site. - All other tours (horseback, hiking, jeep) INTO the canyon are guided.
