My husband and I will be visiting Jamacia in April 2008, to celebrate our 20th Anniversay. We have traveled before and have always rented a car for a couple of days to get the true experience of locals and the region we are visiting. We will only be in Jamacia for 5 days and I don't want my husband to worry about driving this trip. I want to see Jamaica, Negril, Ochas Rios and spend some time there not the tourist places. I have already contacted Barrett Adventures and Clives Transportation, Clive's has a better price. Does anyone have any other suggestions on private transportation? We are staying at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. Thanks so much!

We just came back from Jamaica and used Barrett twice. To be honest we were a bit disappointed with them. They were very disorganised. On our first trip they hadn't told the driver we'd booked and paid for a lunch stop so he went straight from oneplace to another and we had to do without. We were told the cost of lunch would be refunded but haven't received it yet. On the 2nd day out, the driver was only told about one of the two destinations we'd booked to do, and when we had to make a change of plan I think overcharged us, though I'm still trying to work that out with Carolyn via email. In both cases i think it is just down to lack of efficiency, not an attempt to rip us off, but you may wany to look elsewhere.
