How much should I expect to pay from the Pattaya airport to the Sandy Spring hotel?...it's not far from walking street.

Ca. 600 THB I think.Price is not fixed as to this route is not served by metered taxi, so you ahve to negotiate.

No more than a thousand bht mate, i do the trip regular , not too bad if there is two of you but by any standards its cheap, koon bpai tiao.

Is 1000 baht with a metered taxi?

Or a private taxi once you get out of the airport terminal?

Are you guys referring to taxis from the U-Tapao airport (UTP) or the newer Pattaya airport (PYX)? I know the U-Tapao airport was generally considered to be the Pattaya airport, but there's a newer, closer Pattaya airport that recently opened.

PYX airport?? Never heard before about that. Who flies there,some charte flight only probably? Bangkok air use Utopao with scheduled flights to Pattaya, arriving to Utopao airport.

New Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport surely is now by 1hr driving time closer to Pattaya than Don Muang airport was.

U'tapao has always been regarded as "Pattaya" Airport....WHERE ON EARTH IS THE NEW ONE?????......it seems to have opened with little or no publicity if it exists at all.

Suvarnabhumi, the new Bkk airport is about 30 minutes closer to Pattaya (1.5 to 2 hours by taxi)than the old Don Muang.

U'tapoa - receives charter flights and Bkk fly from Phuket/Samui. you are best booking a seat on a minibus before you arrive for about 200/400 baht.

the journey time is about 45 minutes or more.

800 baht is the going rate. Taxis coming from Bangkok charge 1200 to 1500, fair price. When they get to Pattaya they check in with a service that sets them up with returning customers to Bangkok. You will see small stands around the city, mostly on second road, that advertise 800 Baht to the airport. They draw from this pool of drivers.
