I am flying in to Brussels via my way to Paris. I might stay with a friend in Brussels and want to know the best way to get down town to the train station or to the Euroline bus? Any help is much appreciated!

you can take the airport express train in to Central Station. See my Brussels transport tips. Don't know about buses - sorry.

Eurolines buses leave from the bus station (outside bit) below Gare du Nord, you may see it called CCN which means Centre de Communications Nord. If you were going there direct from Brussels Airport, the airport train stops first at Gare du Nord then at Gare centrale and lastly at Gare du Midi.
If you are going to stay with a friend and then "get down town" from wherever that is, a) how are we supposed to know where the friend lives, and therefore how exactly you would get from there to either Gare du Nord, for buses to Paris, or Gare du Midi, for trains to Paris?! And b) surely your friend can direct you from his or her house to whichever station you will be leaving from?!
