Me and friend will be in Salzburg in mid march. We wanna go to Hallstatt. But train seems like expensive. DO they have buses?

You should realise that in most European countries the different modes of transportation complement each other but do not compete with each other. So if there is a convenient train connection between two towns there will rarely be a good bus connection. Often these different modes are integrated and you can travel on buses and trains with the same fare.
This said, I had a look on the OeBB website (the Austrian Railways), where you can plan trips between any two places. According to that site a trip from Salzburg to Hallstatt involves a bus to Bas Ischl where you change to a train, and the cost is EUR 4.5 one way.
Where did you get the idea that trains were expensive from?

i read somewhere that Buses were cheaper. Like you said, from Salzburg to Bad Ischl its EUR 4.5. How much its if i go by train? May be EUR 20 or something.

anyway I think Bus sounds great if its EUR 4.5 to Bad Ischl then train to Hallstatt. what do you think?

The buses and the trains are part of the same transport infrastructure. So the price quoted on the OeBB website will be for the whole trip, (bus + train) and the times given will be the best available.
