Hey everyone,

I am looking for a cheap (I am traveling low low budget) but still central hostel in St. Petersburg. Any idea?

Same here I stayed there several times. There are quite a few hostels these days but none of them really cheap.

You might want to try to find a host with a free bed on www.hospitalityclub.org as they have a fair number of members in StP.

I'd recommend Nord Hostel (http://www.nordhostel.com/expl/index.htm), which is literally steps away from the Palace Square and the Hermitage. The Nevsky Prospect Metro station is a 5 minute walk as well. We found this hostel to be very reasonably priced, especially given its great location. The hostel was clean and staff were very friendly.

Hostels are not cheap here but they are reasonable. Another in that catagory in a very good location(not as close to the Hermitage however, as the Nord is) is called Cubahostel on Kazanskaya www.cubahostel.ru 450 Rubles.
