I am trying to find an on-beach villa / apartment for myself (one person only), 29 Mar - 5 April. I would prefer to stay in the NE of the island, and not pay more than 30-50 Euro / night. I've had trouble finding suitable places online and would appreciate any help the forum can provide.

The price is a bit too low to be honest.

realistically you will need to pay around 100 euro.

Hi, I live in Mauritius and can tell you that you can get something quite nice in your price range, they are just not the type of places that have websites or even advertise, they usually get the same people coming every year and do not advertise. I know of one in Trou aux Biches which I found for a friend visiting here and it was about 35 or 40 Euro a night (including daily cleaning service) for a two bedroom place right on the beach and close to everything for self catering, grocery store, bus stop etc. It is not fancy but a very good basic and clean holiday apartment on a great swimming beach - there are 4 of them in the complex.
