Hello.

Can someone please help me! I need to get from Kiruna to Rovaniemi on April 17th.

Are there trains and if so does anyone know the website for these? And if not how about bus routes/timetables?

Any help would be appreciated.

I did not find a Kiruna, but I did find Kiiruna (and that's only 2.5 kms from Rovaniemi).
Or do you mean Kiruna in northern Sweden (400 kms from Rovaniemi) or in southern Sweden (1500 kms from Rovaniemi)?

Oh sorry, I worked it out. You posted in the Sweden » Norrbottens Län » Kiruna Forum. That's 400 kms.

No direct train but there is a solution. The solution is called "Haparanda bus station" via Luleaa.

Not sure about the price on the Swedish part from Kiruna till Lulea, but the Lulea-Haparanda-Rovaniemi through quasi-train ticket is possible with bus serving as "temporary train" between Lulea and Kemi. The price is 27.40 Euro

This pain in the rear is because Finland has "Russian" (well, almost) gauge while Sweden has European. It seems, they build now a new, shorter line but earlier the only way was to change the trains at Haparanda.

Kemi-Rovaniemi does not seem to be a problem, takes about 1:20 by train, 6 trains daily.
You should buy the entire Lulea-Rovaniemi through ticket in Sweden at once, it's valid for this train/bus combo. From Kiruna to Lulea there will be an other ticket which cannot be combined.

I cant find that information on the German site, does it tell you which company that runs the busses ? I can find absolutely no information on travelling by bus or train from Sweden to Finland.

Look just for the "Haparanda", than you see the bus to Haparanda on German web site. Some busses go to Finland, but some end in Haparanda, that is the Swedish side of the same thing. If there is nothing else you have to cross into Finland by foot, than travel to close-by Kemi. There are busses I know - but not sure their schedule, all that is a rather close distance. From Kemi there is a train.

it was not easy to find and for some strange reason you cant buy the full ticket from the bus companies, you have to buy them from each company.

This is with bus and for April 17.

I do not know if you can walk between the stops but it should be easy to figure out once you are in Haparanda with 6 hours to spend.
