Ocho Rios Travel Forum

Hello friends

First time poster.

I have been doing lots of research in Ocho Rios and the surrounding areas. I narrowed it down to the sunset grande but after reading reviews, am slightly resistant.

I plan to travel there dec 29-jan 2 and want to ask my girl to marry me.

Is this a good place to do so? Can they give me a private dinner on the beach or some other special accomodation?

Also applevacations looks to be the best booking site, any advice on this/

I don't know about that resort but we loved Sandals Ocho Rios. It's beautiful and very romantic if you're looking for an all-inclusive.

I met a couple that stayed there and did not like it. They said the food and service was not that great. I stayed at the Riu which served good food but service needed improvement. Most couples I met either liked Sandals, Royal Decameron, or Grand Lido Braco. The later is more closer to Montego Bay/Runaway Bay area than Ocho Rios and the most expensive.

It's probably too late for you, but drop me a line mid september, when i'll have just got back from the Grande, i'm having my 2 week honeymoon there 1st two weeks of september 08.
