I strongly suggest you NOT Repeat NOT to visit Nepal right now. Who is suggesting to visit Nepal actually has no information. People are coming to India from Nepal because of political unrest and arson. Nepal has no power ( 8-12 hrs power cut in day/night), No food( all restaurants are closed), hotels are empty, tourists were looted in Pokhara side, street fighting going on in Kathmandu and other parts of Nepal between Maoists and other political parties, No Fuel to run the vehicles (long queue before the petrol pumps for days as petrol is distributed Rs.500 to Motor cycles and Rs.800 to cars may be once a week), tourism is at it lowest. This is going on for about a month. Knowing all this if somebody ventures out for Nepal and Kathmandu at the moment, will not be rewarded for bravery. It is better to wait till the elections are over on 8th to 10 April, and a proper govt to form. Sorry folks for discouraging you! Please check for yourself for the truth.

!!! I know it's a trike and fuel shortage going on in Nepal at this moment (which happens all the time), but have no idea it's gonna be THIS seriuos !!! My friend just got back from Nepal about 2 weeks ago, and nothing she said. Well...I'm gonna re-check with a local friend at the Hospitality Club, whether should I cancel the trip (again!! it's the 3rd time already!)...BTW I'll let you guys know if my trip is still running.

Yes it is really bad at this time. Just wait till elections to be held on 10th April. Lots of things happening in Nepal and terai ( plain land). It will be better to wait to visit this wonderful country than get into trouble for nothing. A stable govt. is what is required at the moment. Food, Fuel and transport are sure things to hit a tourist besides unforseen danger of being robbed by goos or hungry people.

Well it's my view only. I have some friends there and I love this country. I had been there over 50 times to Kathmandu in my life. I am in touch with friends over phone and mails. All the information shared here have received from them only.

I would love to get more feedback from people who are there now.

I'm hoping to book a flight Delhi to Kathmandu in the next 2 weeks ...I won't be arriving in Kathmandu until the last week of April though.
