I have already booked my flight from shenzhen to Guiln but I have only 3 hours once I get into HK airport to get to Shenzhen airport. I have always taken the overland border corssing coach but sometimes it takes a while. Is the ferry to shekou port fast? It says on the website u dont need to go through immigration if you take the ferry but I will need to go through surely to arrivals to get my bags.

Advice much appreciated!

I think three hours is very tight either way.
For the ferry, you don't need to go thru immigration to pickup your luggages. When you buy the ferry ticket, they will ask if you have any luggages. If so, you can give them your luggage tickets and they will pickup them and transport them to the ferry directly. The first piece is first but you need to pay 20HKD for each extra piece.

well I wont have too much stuff so i guess I could carry it, but ferry is only every hour right? The bus always seems to be there. I dont know it ususally takes me 2.5 hours by the bus but sometimes its only me who wants the airport stop so I need to wait around! I already booked my flight from shenzhen as it was really cheap but still dont want to miss it :(

Oh sorry I understand they go get your luggage for you, thats good. From shekou to the shenzhen airport is not far yes and theres a free bus to take you there? Thanks for your reply its really helpful .

I know there is a bus from Shekou to Shenzhen airport but I don't remember the number. However I think you better take taxi to save some time.

Thanks, just 2 more questions, do I take the ferry to fuyong or shekou and also I dont have a ticket for my flight to guilin from shenzhen as its an eticket, if I print the itinerys is that enough to show I have a onward flight?

the only chance you have of making your flight in Shenzhen is to take the cross border limo service (150HKD) it will take you directly to China customs, they check passport on HK side from the car and then take a taxi to the airport.

As posted above; with 3 hours it will be nearly impossible.

The ferry will not work beause they need at least an hour to retrieve your bags.

I get hopefully to HK at 4.15pm so I thought if I catch the 5.30pm ferry there will enough time as that leaves an hour. So Id get to fuyong 6.15 and then at the latest get the shenzhen airport 7pm, as my flights at 8.20 I thought its a rush but it would work. If my flights delayed i was going to get the border crossing bus. I didnt know they had one just to the border? I usually pay 200 hk dollars and get the one that takes you all the way to the airport. But I obviously can only do the ferry if I can catch the 5.30 boat. how much is a taxi to shenzhen airport from the border? Last time there was a bus that left right away but another time they faffed around and it took and extra hour, so a taxi might be a safe bet.
