Hi,

My sister is getting married in Toronto in August and a large number of her family, relatives and friends are flying in from the West Coast and Asia. Can anyone recommend any decent & reasonably-priced hotels that also offer discounts for out-of-town wedding guests? What have others on here used?

I also need a recommendation for a hotel (doesn't have to be in the city) with suites that are tastefully done up where we can have a Jack & Jill party. We'd be looking to rent a suite for one night with a large livingroom/entertaining area. Has any VTer done something similar?

The Comfort Hotel in Yorkville has rooms starting at 94cad and Yorkville is a lovely area. Go to www.toronto.com and click on hotels downtown and see if they offer wedding rates.

I would tell them it is for a Family Reunion not a Wedding.

For hotel bookings or classy party arrangements, i suggest Four seasons hotel on avenue rd/bloor. Or Fairmont hotel on Front street.

My dad works at four seasons hotel and it's the only hotel for celebrities to stay at whenever they arrive in Toronto and one of my friends work at Fairmount hotel, very classy and friendly service.

Thanks, everyone, this gives me something to go on. I liked the way the Rosemont @ 50 John Street looked for the Jack & Jill party when they featured it on Project Runway Canada (heh heh), but it seems they need a minimum booking of 3 days. Otherwise CAD$199/night is a reasonable price.
