| Boston | Inside info needed on a weekend visit for 2 Irish visitors . Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 02:45 AM UTC
Hey Guys . Myself and my friend are coming to Boston from Ireland on fri 29th feb till monday 3rd march and would like to know best places/areas to stay and where are the best places to go drinking etc . I'm male , 32 and a HUGE Dropkick Murphys fan . My friend is 27 and female and we'll be there for a long weekend looking to have a laugh , see some sights , maybe see the Celtics play and get drunk . Any suggestions ???
Cheers Guys . Ryan from Derry . |

oo...making me jealous for my "home town...." I've not been back in some time, but check out the Black Rose for a good "drinking pub."

any fan of the Dropkicks is a friend of mine.
I grew up in Boston and the two places I tell people to check out are the North End and Harvard Square across the river in Cambridge (just a short subway ride on the Red line) The North End is the Itlaian section and has tons of great restaurants and many of the people still speak Italian even though they have been here for years. Very difficult to have a bad meal here. Harvard Sq is great for people watching and shops, restaurants and bars. Celtics tix may be hard to come by, but not impossible. Try www.ticketmaster.com or www.stubhub.com Boston sports fans are great, so if you can get tix, it should be a great experience.
