Does anyone know if the Ho Guom Hotel in Honoi has reopened after renovations and if it any good. Also any opinions on the Army Hotel. If you have any other suggestions of quiet clean central hotels we would love to know. We will be there in late March. thanks Jeff

In the centre, you can stay at the Church hotel, it's quite a clean and quiet hotel. It rates are nearly 60 USD per night.

Army & Ho Guom are Goverment hotels, Reception is quite cold.
Rooms in Army is quite nice ( not really new), some rooms facing the pool is very nice. Hanoi Elegance 2 hotel is clean and central if you wanna try.
