Thanks for your help in locating a hotel. I did have one other questions, as we are leaning towards staying at the Hilton on 2 Funival Street. Can we walk from the train station to there with a couple pieces of luggage.
Thanks Kim |

Put Furnival Road (which is the address of the Hilton, assuming you mean the one on http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/SZDSHHN-Hilt
www.streetmap.co.uk and click the 'street' button. Choose the Furnival Road in Sheffield S4, and you'll get a map showing you where the Hilton is in relation to the station, which is on Sheaf Street (scroll left and down). Quite some distance away, I think, but not an impossible walk.

Hi! The Hilton is on Furnival Road, which is in the Victoria Keys area. As the crow lies it's a short distance from the train station- However! It's not so easy to walk to carrying luggage, even if its a case on wheels. I'd advice getting a taxi from the station - it should cost less than a fiver. Have You contacted the hotel - there might be a shuttle mini bus/ reduced taxi rates.
Tel 0114 2525500 www.hilton.co.uk The hotel is slightly 'off the beaten track' As far as I know there are no bus stops nearby, and it is quite a walk to the city centre, and probably not so good to be aiming back there on foot late at night, so You might end up getting a few taxis. I'll try and take a proper look this weekend for You. More central are the Novotel, Grosvenor, Mercure St Pauls, Leopold, and Ibis. I'll try and find out more - Didn't You stay at the Leopold at Christmas then? Best Wishes, Sue

My friend in Sheffield says it's about a mile, but awkward because of the way the roads are...........lots of busy ones to cross. I'd get a taxi.

So once again we all rally around to find the answers to these questions about staying in Sheffield from Kimkellykari (Dec and Feb)and she doesn't wait for an answer - not checked in since Feb 22nd! I now know to wait for a few days after a newbie posting to see if they log on again - ie interested in getting a reply/ interested in vt etc. Apologies if there is a genuine reason why KKK hasn't logged in/responded to replies, but getting a bit p*$$£8 off with doing research for nowt!

C'est la vie on VT!
But someone else might find the info useful..........VT threads do come up when one googles certain combinations.........so I don't really mind.
