what is the best way to get from porto torres ferry port to alghero. also what is the easiest/cheapest/best way to get from alghero to cagliari. thanks

I would say a car is your best choice. Sardinian Buses are not particularly easy to use and the timetables are not very well linked to make for easy travelling. A car will also allow you to stop and enjoy the many interesting and beautiful places you're going to be passing on your journey. If you shop around you can gat a car much cheaper than the well known hire firms and you should be able to leave the car at Cagliari for a small supplement.
