| Minsk | visa requirements Posted: Fri February 22, 2008 07:14 AM UTC
My name is Johan and I live in Denmark. We are 4 guys which have booked a trip to Minsk, for a long weekend.
However we seem to have trouble getting an invitation for the visa. We do not want to stay in a hotel, but prefer to rent an apartment. Do you have any advice? Thanks Johan |

No invitation need for EU citizen for 30day (or less) belarus visa. And simplest way - declare not "tourism", but "visit friend" in application form. All you need in this case - Name and adress of belarus person (me for example :) But here another problem - registration procedure. All foreigner have to register in 3 day afrer arrive in belarus. If you stay in hotel, you got registration automaticaly. If stay in private - three way 1- leave belarus on 3rd day. 2- got this stupid registration (if you lucky, it takes only half a day and about $20 fee per person). 3 be ready for troble on a border and pay a fine.
so here 2 possible way - 1) apply for "visit friend" visa and leave on a 3rd day this not friendly country. 2) stay at hotel as long as you wish.

It's not big deal to get registration, most of owners who offer apartment for rent arrange registration for about 20 EUR per person, additional payment. As there is no Belarusian embassy in Denmark you can get visa at the airport on arrival. If you wish to know details you can write to my e-mail here on site Ret_@vtmail.com

Shure, it absolutly stupid idea to apply visa in airpot - concul fee about 100euro per person in than case. And no need to rent flat vith agensy - price like in hotel. If you looking cheap apartament, try this http://ruki.by/index4.php?razdel=1&rubric=2&subrubric=1 - this is minsk newspaper of private ads. (on russian of course)
