| Sydney | Budget Accomodation for 3 months Posted: Fri February 22, 2008 06:36 AM UTC
I'll be staying in Sydney from March to end of May. I am trying to find a good hotel/apartment which is as close to the CBD as possible, but I only have a budget of $65 a day. HELP!
Thanks very much guys! |

Hi Daniel
Check out this website: http://www.sydneyhotelsaccommodation.com/City/1/city1list.htm It lists some information about three different hotels/hostels in Sydney which are budget, but are clean and very cheap! The longer you stay (over four weeks) the cheaper your accomodation becomes. Make sure when you contact these places you ask them to give your a special rate quote since you would like to stay for so long. Most will give you a cheaper deal. Also try this website: www.budgethotelssydney.com Good luck and I hope you have an absolute blast here :)

With that kind of a budget, you should look for a flatmate in an apartment in Bondi or Paddington? You could share with other students/travelers and pay around $200 per week.
Try www.flatmates.com.au

may I suggest wotif.com - they are a last minute booking site and you can get very reasonable prices
though there may be some difficulty here because you want to stay for so long i gather you want a private room? that will be very hard to find for 65 a day. maybe have a ook at pubstay? or check out some vters pages - I have seen some very reasonably priced hotels on their accomodation tips older rather shabby pubs in the centre of the city

There is a lot of cheap accommodation around just need to find the right place. Some places range from $300 a week in Darlinghurst or you could get a shared apartment somewhere, if you walk around the city i guarantee that there are flyers stuck to poles which are looking for people in your situation.

so far, i have a hell lot of difficulty finding a good accomodation. It is either its out of my $450 range, or it is unfurnished, or I am required at least 6 months rent period. I am still looking...

i know it is very tough in sydney to find rental accomodation - i live just out of sydney and the sydney paper has stories very often about 40 people turning up to look at one flat
i can only suggest if things get impossible that you stay in a hostel and look for ads on notice boards (in hostels, at universities) for someone who wants a flat mate but then you see they might not want someone just for a few months
