| Elvas | Elvas to Badajoz Posted: Thu February 21, 2008 02:41 PM UTC
Has anyone recently managed to get from Elvas to Badajoz in order to connect the trains from Lisbon and onwards from Badajoz to Merida: the train from Lisbon arrives at 1248 Portuguese time and leaves from Badajoz at 1420 Spanish time - so there is only half an hour for the connection. Are there taxis at Elvas station?? Will be grateful for any information. DS 21 Feb 08

The Yellow Pages lists three taxi companies in Elvas
www.pai.pt I haven't done the journey myself so don't know if they wait at the station or have to be summoned. The road distance is about 14km but I would still be chewing my fingernails with only 32 minutes to cover the distance! Good luck.

The journey between Lisbon and Elvas is really too long. We never know when we arrive. The half an hour you talk can be 20m, or 10m, or...
So, let me to sugest you: go by bus. Please look at www.alsa.es.
