| Brasov | Rasnov,Bran and Prejmer in a day. Posted: Thu February 21, 2008 10:08 AM UTC
Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if it would be possible to visit Rasnov fortress,Bran castle and Prejmer church all in one day using public transport and/or taxis, and if so how much would it be and roughly how long would you be able to spend in each. Also, does anyone know the exact opening days/times for each place as I seem to get conflicting answers from various websites and guide books. Cheers. |

It's certainly possible to do this trip by taxi and it should cost between 30 and 50 euros (Brasov-Prejmer 18km, Brasov-Rasnov 16km, Rasnov-Bran 12km); you'll probably be able to spend two-three hours in each place.
You could also try to do it by public transport, there are buses to Bran (via Rasnov) leaving from Brasov every half hour.

Don't know anything certain about opening times.
Bran castle's official site ( brancastlemuseum.ro/) says that it's open between 9AM-6PM from Tuesday to Sunday and between 9AM-1PM on Mondays. Rasnov fortress is probably open daily, from early morning till evening. Prejmer church is probably open just a few days per week, from morning to afternoon.

It would be tough to do the whole thing by public transport in a day, as Prejmer is in the wrong direction relative to the other two places. So you'd have to use a taxi for at least part of the trip. There are reasonably frequent buses between Brasov, Rasnov, and Bran, so with an early start you might be able to visit them by bus, return to Brasov and get a taxi to Prejmer. But it would be a bit rushed, and I don't know if the opening hours (especially of Prejmer church) will allow it. So if you can afford it maybe a taxi for the full day would work out better.

Thanks to everyone for this info. There is a chance that I could have a Monday spare,so if that's the case I could possibly travel to Bran and Rasnov on that day, then go to Prejmer on the Tuesday.

Hi, little bit of info regarding Rasnov castle, I went there in January and at that time they didn't open on Monday's but not sure if that is all year round. Good luck with your trip.

Hello,
Last October we visited both Bran and Rasnov in a daytrip from Brasov by public transport (bus) and it wasn't a problem. Buses to Bran leave about every 30 minutes from Autogara 2 in Brasov. Tickets can be bought from the driver and cost about 3,50 RON. It takes about 40 minutes to Bran. Rasnov is located on the route Brasov to Bran. You find more info about both places on my Brasov page (Off the Beaten Path tips). I hope you find them helpful. HORSCHECK
