I'm looking to take my kids for a weekend trip to VT to go visit a maple sugaring house/farm. What is the peak time to do this?

Ideally, we'd like to be "near" the flagship Vermont Country Store in Weston, but more importantly would like to make sure we go to a great sugaring farm with a great breakfast. A bonus would be to have a hotel/inn that had an indoor pool...any suggestions? We live south of Boston and would like to stay closer to southern or central VT, if possible (the kids would go bananas if we drove "too" far north...) and any extra family-friendly suggestions would be so appreciated.

Sugar houses are boiling sap right now. A good time to come is the weekend of March 28-30 which is Maple Open House weekend. If you're worried about time, you might want to stay near the interstate, which would take you away from Weston. Looks like there are some good places in Putney and Westminster, off I-91.
