3 of us, all on budgets, shared a rental car driving down through Venice - picked up two more friends across the border in Slovenia, stayed the night at Pula - youth hostel on the beach! - and on down to Split and up and around to many places - it was a trip of a lifetime for most of us in the car - i am still here but the others are either back in Oz or still on tight budgets from life situations - but it was a brilliant low budget trip - and quality and time maximised by going independently by car rather than stuffing about those distances and destination desires with public transport!

PS the prices with www.auto-europe.com or www.holidayautos.co.uk might surprise you.
