Hi there

Are you refering to shirts for the beach etc or more so for work?

If it is for the beach any local surf shops and department stores will sell wet shirts that protect from UV light. There are copious amounts of surf shops in Sydney and no shortage of department stores in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Ikea is located at:
Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush (Sydney)
Victoria Street, Richmond (Melbourne)

However Ikea wouldn't sell that kind of thing if thats what you are wanting to purchase from there. You can see what they sell at www.ikea.com.au

Ikea is for something else.
Rash shirts, any specific brand you can recommend. I have skin problems and I wonder if all will work.
Which stores have good prices for the shirts?
I do appreciate all your answers.

There are many many brands on the market, however keep in mind when it comes to price cheaper is not better. Stingray are a fantastic brand as are many of the surf labels like quicksilver/roxy, billabong, hot tuna etc who all specialise in rash/wet shirts.

I would recommend visiting any surf shops (Billabong, Quicksilver, City Beach, Brothers Nielsen and many others) in Sydney or Melbourne as they will have an extensive range of these shirts. To ensure the shirt protects against UV protection check the tags attached to the product.

If you are worried about price check out places like Kmart, Target, Big W, Myer as they will sell these shirts however won't have a large selection.

You can purchase a variety of these shirts and other items of protective clothing from the Cancer Council outlets in some major shopping centres in Sydney CBD and suburbs eg Miranda ,Hornsby,Chatswood Bondi,Penrith.
The Cancer Council also has an online shop which provides delivery in Australia and o/s by mail .If interested look up
www.cancercouncil.com.au
and follow the link to the shop under sunsmart section it has prices and pictures of clothing ,hats, sunglasses and sunscreens available .
Hope this helps as our summers can get very hot and you do need protection from the suns burning rays .

Hi, for everyday wear 100% cotton t shirts/shirts with a close weave offer good protection. You should consider longsleeves if you have skin which is sensitive to the sun.
If you are swimming it is better to buy a polyamide rash vest rather than cotton. The uv protection of cotton goes down when it is wet. Also it is worthwhile wearing a broadbrimmed hat and sunscreen to protect your face.
