Hi there, i'm flying to Fiji on april 6th for a week and hoping someone can share advice on things to do or not to miss while i'm there.thanks

I really enjoyed the jetboat ride up the Sigatoka River on Veti Levu. You get far into the island (depending on weather/rainfall) and it's fast and convenient. You visit a village. They change villages every day, so the village doesn't get tourists very often. You can do raft and other trips, but because of the slow speed these don't go as far into the island as the jet boat does.

I would recommend making sure you get out to the outer islands - the Yasawa chain can be great if you're on a budget When I went to Fiji 3 years ago, I booked my trip through: http://www.awesomefiji.com/... but they are really backpacker-oriented (not in a bad way, I'm just not sure if this is what you're looking for).

I am also interested in things to do in Fiji. Just wondering if the jetboat ride up the sigatoka river (suggested above - Hi Pam!) is suitable for a 3 year old? thanks

WE had two small kids on the boat, maybe 5 and 7. Not sure about 3yrs. They had lifejackets for the kids too.

Don't miss going on cruises (like Captain Cook's) to any of the islands...even the Mystery Island tour aboard a tall ship was exciting for us- family of 4- with kids 9 & 13! Tour includes snorkeling, yummy lunch, glass bottomed boat rides, etc.all equipment provided and you just bring your towel!
