Banff National Park Geological History of Moraine Lake
Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 07:59 PM UTC
I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a good book or website that will tell me about the history of the formation of Moraine Lake. I am looking for something that talks about the tectonic forces, faults, the formations, the glaciers and how Moraine Lake formed. Thanks in advance!

I always had assumed the Jolly Green Giant happened by and started the avalanche that closed in the lake.

Maybe I'll learn something in this thread too!

You might try the "Geological Survey of Canada" or "Natural Resources Canada"

www.nrcan.gc.ca.

You will probably have to ask a specific question .
