| Botswana | Advice Needed on Chobe & Okavengo Lodges Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 12:14 PM UTC
Looking for advice on lodges within Chobe / Okavengo. We are considering either going to (1) Muchenje Safari Lodge and Mapula Lodge OR to (2) Chobe Chilwero and Xakanaxa Camp. Looking for help with the difference in experiences at these lodges (i.e., animals, activities, size, location).
Also, has anyone been to Mapula Lodge? I can't seem to find many revies online for this camp. Thanks for any help you can provide! |

Hi, I'm going to botswana in August and will be staying in Mapula for 2 nights. I chose it because it has water and land activities, does night drives and walking safaris, and apparently has really good guides. Also, last year they had a group of wild dogs that denned near the lodge.
you can find a review in tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g317055-d9 and another one in expert africa: http://www.expertafrica.com/lodge/Mapula_Lodge_.htm

Both these places are fine. Make sure you book well in advance. Not sure when you´re planning to go, but be aware Aug is peak month and availability will be v limited. Best be advised to book at least a year in advance. Enjoy your trip!
