| Cairo | Qanater or Fayyoum? Posted: Mon February 18, 2008 07:13 AM UTC
I am divided between visiting Qanater (closer, and I can take a river taxi) or Fayyoum (long drive, but I think, more to see?).
What is there to do in Qanater? Is it possible for me to spend only half a day there (go by boat, come back by taxi or vice versa)? I do not want to visit the camel market in birqash. WIll there be lots of people in Qanater on saturday? Thankyou for your advice :) |

Hi there
I thought someone else might be of more help as my info is rather old , but since no one did, here it goes ; my experience of Qanater was many years ago & really it has nothing to offer more than some open green space for the public to have a picnic etc... You can hire a horse or a bike .. but really nothing more to it. The most pleasant part of that Journey was the return trip by the river bus. Based on that , unless things have changed in the past few years, I would recommend El Fayoum . Best of luck anyway !
