hello everyone!
i know ive already asked some questions on here but am really not satisfied with the answers..please help me! This will be my first time visiting northern luzon..I will be flying in from laoag arriving at 8:55 pm on march 8 so i might just stay overnight in laoag..then the next morning drive off to vigan and pagudpud..i have whole 2 days to roam around so is it possible to do sidetrip to banaue and sagada? i only want to see the famous banaue rice terraces and the sagada hanging coffins..i know there's a lot to see in sagada but i dont have much time for it..at least i could only see the hanging coffins..i dont know where my exit will be going back to manila..will it be in laoag again or baguio then? i want to be in manila before 4 pm on march 11..is it really possible or what? and is there a private car service that i can hire to tour these places? please help! thank you so much! |

Pardon me, but what kind of responses will satisfy you? As I recall, your questions above were already addressed in your previous post. Anyway, to reiterate, Banaue and Sagada are really way off from Vigan and Pagudpud, it is not a matter of making a side trip along the way. They may look close on the map, but in reality, it's more than 12 hours land travel. In fact, Vigan and Pagudpud are on opposite direction from Laoag.
I'm not sure if there are private car/van for hire. In case there are, you also have to consider that you (plus the driver) may have to do night trips or stay overnight in some places. Option 1 Laoag-Vigan (south-bound): 1.5 hours Vigan-Baguio: app 8 hours Baguio-Banaue: app 8 hours Baguio-Manila: 7 hours Option 2 Laoag-Pagudpud (north-bound): 2.5 hours Pagudpud-Tuguegarao: app 6 hours Tuguegarao-Bagabag: app 4 hours Bagabag-Banaue: 1.5 hours Banaue-Bontoc: 2 hours Bontoc-Sagada: 1 hour * Either you go back to Banaue and catch a bus to Manila (9 hours) or go to Baguio (6 hours) Again, if you want to visit both Vigan and Pagudpud, you can go to Vigan first from Laoag then go travel back to Laoag and catch a bus for Pagudpud (follow Option 2). Alternatively, you can go to Pagudpud from Laoag then travel back to Laoag and catch a bus for Vigan (follow Option 1). The above are the routes I'm familiar with. Other VTers may have other suggestions.

NO NO NO you can not because Banawe or Sagada is too far from the 3 places you mention, unless you rent/hired private helicopter or plane.... Aids, Carlito grabe na to

Hi there! Laoag to Banaue in 2 days is a challenging one. If you want to make most out of your time, take a morning trip going to Laoag. If you can't, then my suggestion would be to continue your overnight stay in Laoag, then set early for Pagudpud at dawn (5am would be best, i think there are bus rides going there at dawn) so you arrive there in the early morning (7am), take note of asianbelle's list of travel periods. You can either have early lunch and leave for Vigan by noon since it's gonna take you about 4 hours, breakdown is: 2hrs. trip going back to laoag, 2hrs. trip from laoag to Vigan. The best time to be in Vigan would be by 3pm so you can tour the place for 2 hours, have early dinner and leave for Baguio, about 6 hours trip by bus. From Baguio you'll have to stay overnight. I'm not familiar how far Baguio is from Sagada. From Sagada you have to go back to Baguio and return to Manila, Baguio-Manila is about 6 hours.
