Belarus Travel to and in Belarus
Posted: Sun February 17, 2008 02:33 PM UTC
I am planning a trip to Belarus and was looking for pointers. Pplan is to train in to Minsk from Lithuania. Is this a viable option?
Are the trains reliable? From Minsk plan to go to Gomel again by train. Is this ok?
To obtain a Belarus visa I believe I need to have accomodation booked and an invite letter. Can I book for one night and get the visa or do I need the accomodation for all of the trip before the visa will be granted?

Thanks
William

When I applied a Belarus visa I had to fill only the form and pay 6$ and the didn't ask about accommodation or invitations. In fact, when you are in Belarus more than three days you need to register (at the hotel or somewhere) and if not you may have a problem when leaving the country on the border.
