I will be staying in Brisbane from the last week of February to first week of May. Will I need to bring an umbrella?

Umbrella is always good - if it does not rain you can use it against the sun ;-)
Do you think the people on VT are weather gods? Not even the professional metservices are able to answer your question.

They sell umbrellas in Brisbane so if it rains or the sun is too intense I suggest you opt for no umbrella and buy one if needed...

I don't think the weather is going to get any nicer any time soon. So yes having an umbrella may be a good idea. However instead of bringing one maybe purchase one when you are here? You can buy small one person sized umbrellas that fit easily into a handbag, backpack or briefcase etc.
