i planned to go taipei in mid july to celebrate my 21st birthday. this will be my second time there. the first time i went there, i've been to some of the popular places like:
-ximending
-ferris wheel
-taipei 101
-old danshui streets
-beitou hotspring
-one of the memorial hall near taipei 101?
-wu fen pu
-partyworld

this time round i want to do something different. most probably 5d4n.. i read from previous post about jiu fen and hot spring in wu lai..some post mention abt keelung? can someone tell me more about that?? i have not book hotel and flight.. but most probably i'll stay somewhere in ximending..

You can spend one day out of Taipei : Yeliou > Jinguashi > > Jioufen > Keelung

Another day you can go to Wulai for half day starting in the Afternoon then on your way back you can visis Gonguan NM and Shida NM(Mainly food)

Another day you can take the cable car up to Maokong Tea Plantations from Mucha(Taipei Zoo)You can do this in the Morning and then come back to town for shoping e.t.c. later.

You can also take a day trip to Hualien and return in the late evening. (How many of you travelling together)

Another suggestion is you can go Taichung, can visit Sun moon lake..there are interesting things to buy @ itashao village. Things at Taichung is also cheaper.
I have recommended a hotel where you can stay at Taichung.

Chiufen is very nice. I've been there many times as i live in Taichung. Whenever I have longer holiday, I always think of this place.

It's a bit pity if you only choose the north to stay. my suggestion is you could take high speed railway to the south area Kaohsiung. Tainan is interesting too, but the high speed railway stop is too far from Taina city, I don't recmmand it. It's wasting your time transferring.

Take 2hr high speed railway to Kaohsiung from Taipei and transfer by boat (in 5 mins) to Chichin. It's even fresh for Taiwanese who fist time came here. Before leaving the ferry Pier, take a 10 mins walk(not too far from the Pier) to Former British Consulate, you could appriciate the view of Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung is also a nice shopping area. Try shinkuchan and never skip Love River. You could stay one night in there and go back to Taipei next day. One day back and forth is okay as well.

around 8:00-10:00 Taipei to Kaohsiung
10:00-11:00 from station to Chichin
stay there for about 2-3 hours
around 3:00 to British consulate
5:00 to the center of city and take a walk in Love River( It's pretty in the dark. go there after evening)
6:20-8:30 to shopping center

9:?? go back to Taipei

time is a bit rush, but it's okay to do all the things in one day!!

Regarding to this, you mention about youth pass, May I know youth pass stand for what? is it student pass?
