| Ubud | Greenfields in Ubud Posted: Sat February 16, 2008 09:44 PM UTC
Hi, I am wondering if any has stayed at Greenfields in Ubud. Friends are staying at the Tegal Sari however they are completely booked out and the Greenfields is next door. We will be there for two nights in April - 2 adults and 1 12 yo. Also is the Tegal Sari and Greenfields in walking distance to things in Ubud. I have been reading on the internet people's disappointment in have to get taxi's everywhere.
Thanks in anticipating for your replies |

not sure about the accomodation but you can walk into ubud from Tegal Sari, it will take around 20minutes and you can always go back via a taxi its so cheap, only around $2-$3 a trip.

For me, these days, a 20 minute walk is what I would call a marathon. I suggest you get a copy of the Lonely Planet “Bali & Lombok” travel guide at your nearest bookstore. There are very detailed maps included in this constantly updated guide book which clearly show the locations of even the most humble accommodations in Ubud.

Think about this. How many times on this forum relating to Bali has anyone going through these posts read more about Balinese drivers?
I think the answer is nowhere else. If you agree with that, the next logical question is why? The answer is obvious. Regardless of the inability of any poster here to articulate their own experiences in Bali...which I understand, it is easier, or more possible to present their driver, the one most responsible for this experience, with ease. This all makes perfect sense to me, as it is the Balinese driver who shares his, and occasionally her Bali with the incidental tourist that very often leaves the most lasting impression, solidified in the mind and heart for years and years. When one tourist here promotes their driver, and another tourist, their other driver...it is all because of the experiences attributed to their driver whilst they were here in Bali.
