Genoa US Traveler flying into Genoa

Is there transportation available at the Genoa Airport (GOA) that will take me from the airport to the Port of Genoa to sail on the Carnival Splendor European Cruise on July 2, 2008? If so, what is the fare in U.S. dollars per person?

I do not know if either the cruise line or the port has arranged any sort of transportation. However, note that the airport is not far from the port, no more than 4 kilometers and maybe closer to two, depending on which dock you come in to.

The official taxi fares in Genova are:
3.25 euro to start
0.90 euro per kilometer (or per minute, if you're going less than 30/kph [18/mph]
2.00 euro supplement for Sunday and holidays
2.50 euro supplement for times betwen 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
0.50 euro supplement for each bag after the first one (unless it's small)
1.00 euro supplement for each person more than 3
1.50 euro supplement for going to/from the port
2.50 euro supplement for going to/from the airport

So, assuming there are two of you with 4 pieces of luggage, arriving on a weekend (includes Saturdays) during the day, it looks like
3.25 + (3 kilometers*0.90) + 1.50(3 extra bags) + 1.50 (port fee) + 2.50 (airport fee) = 11.45 euro for the two of you, plus any tips (Italians don't tip much, unless the guys is nice and helps you with your luggage).

This is an approximation, but it should give you a worst case scenario, in case a bus doesn't turn up...I leave it to you to convert euro to dollars (something like $15-$16USD).

Here's a precis of transport possibilities from the airport. I would suggest a taxi from Stazione Principe if you don't want to pay for a taxi direct from the airport.

Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing a cruise on the July 2nd Carnival Splendor as well. However, before I decide to book it, I'm looking into transportations between the cruise ports and the airports. Have you found any information on this? Also, are you returning from Dover cruise port (London) to Heathrow Airport and, if so, what transportation have you found to be most economical? Thank you!
