| Warsaw | Train between Warsaw & Karakow: non-smoking cars? Posted: Thu February 14, 2008 05:38 PM UTC
I purchased non-smoking reservations and tickets to travel via train between Warsaw & Krakow. When I received the reservation, the word "SMOKER" appears on the reservation. When I called www.raileurope.com, they said that my reservations were indeed non-smoking.
1) Who can give me any information about the smoking vs. non-smoking situation on trains between Warsaw & Krakow? Is there a separate non-smoking section? Are there separate cars/coaches? 2) Has anyone purchased tickets from www.raileurope.com and had the word "SMOKER" appear on the reservation? What did it mean? P.S. Just in case I have not been clear, I am a non-smoker and would be immensely more comfortable in a non-smoking section / car / coach. |

I guess it is ticket for EX or IC train (journey duration 2h and 50 min)
In all of these trains no smoking allowed inside the cabin. Whoever wants to smoke usually can get out of the cabin/compartment to general passageway. You can find more info about the specific train here (the company which operates EC and IC trains): http://www.intercity.pl/?page=timetable (upper right side choose "english") just look for the train in question and click on its number or name.

We ended up having a compartment to ourselves as the train wasn't that full, and non-smoking from memory. Doesn't answer the question of course, but I did really enjoy the ride.
