Hi
I'm trying to book a weekend away in Lubeck and i've been advised to fly to Hamburg. How far is Lubeck centre from the airport? and can I get there using public transport, or do I need to hire a car? Thanks |

You could fly with Rynair directly to Lübeck airport. From there bus line #6 into the city centre.
Single ticket is EUR 2,40 From Hamburg airport there is a direct bus to Lübeck called TRAVELiner http://www.traveliner.de/ single ticket is EUR 17,00 (return EUR 28,00) single ticket + taxi to somewhere in Lübeck: EUR 20,50 (EUR 35,00) (the bus driver calls the taxi for you) There are frequent trains between Hamburg Hbf and Lübeck Hbf. Single ticket is EUR 11,00. Day ticket EUR 21,10. These are zone-to-zone tickets. Thats great thanks. I didn't realise there was an airport in Lubeck, i'll go to Ryanair website and have a look.

Is Lubecks airport Hamburg (Lubeck) LBC?? Its the only one I can see on the Ryanair site

A case of Rynair's naming skills. LBC is the Lübeck-Blankensee airport. Some 75 km east of Hamburg.

Thanks thats great, so as long as the airport has the code LBC it will take me direct to Lubeck?
Been trying to plan this trip for ages, as my great grandparents lived there, just want to make sure i'm going to the right place! I dont suppose you know of anywhere to stay in the area??
