| Galveston | One Nighter Posted: Thu February 14, 2008 11:28 AM UTC
Going to be in Galveston next week for one night, best location (hotel) to hit the many nightlife spots on the island. Want to be able to walk. Is Galveston more fun than a nighter in Houston???

Galveston really only has one area for tourists, it is called "The Strand". Since it is too cold still to enjoy Stewart Beach, I would stay in the Strand area.

Houston would probably be more fun.
There are some bars and hotels along the seawall scattered around the San Luis Resort (Seawall@53rd), but The Strand is basically it and there isn't much to it. Houston is also spread out for its bar scene though. There are several areas that cater to fairly specific crowds, so it depends on who you are.
