Hi Everyone,

I would like to know if there is any festival or cultural event to be held in Mumbai this April or perhaps Jaipur, Udaipur or Agra during this time?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hi - the following holidays/festivals are celebrated this year in April:

Gudi Padwa – Mumbai
Ram Navami – all India
Mahavir Jayanti – all India
Hanuman Jayanti – all India

In Mumbai, there is no big festival as such in April. Gudi Padwa is celebrated privately, not on a public scale. April 14 is Ambedkar Jayanti when hordes of people congregate around the Shivaji Park area but it is not a 'festival' by any stretch of the imagination if by festival you mean something like Deepavali. There is no major cultural event on in April as it is very warm and sticky. The Elephanta festival just concluded yesterday. You can check listings of cultural events at www.timeoutmumbai.net
Jaipur, Udaipur and Agra will be very hot in April so unlikely to be hosting major cultural festivals.
