| Santiago | Santiago to Vina del Mar Posted: Thu February 14, 2008 03:29 AM UTC
My wife and I are traveling to Santiago and plan to stay in the city for 2 nights. Then we are traveling to Vina del Mar. Since we are not traveling on by plane that day, we cannot use the LAN bus.
I have read about the buses that go to Vina del Mar. We are hesitant to travel by bus because we have a couple pieces of luggage. What is the bus like? Is there any way to get a transport by car arranged by a travel agent? Would this be very very expensive? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks Alex Email: ajphilly@yahoo.com |

In another thread you can read a lot about the transportation between Santiago (Airport) and Valparaiso (Cruise port), including prices. Take a look at:

The buses to Vina del Mar are excellent - very cheap, frequent and punctual with allocated seating. I wouldn't even consider travelling any other way.

We just returned from Chile. We decided to travel by public bus. The bus station was clean and we did not find any "shady" people in the station. Usually, transportation centers attracts "shady" people. The bus station in Santiago was cleaner and safer than some bus stations in the US.
It was also very easy with our luggage. Thanks for your replies.
