| Malcesine | Dolomites Posted: Wed February 13, 2008 01:51 PM UTC
We are going to Malcesine in early April 08. We would like to visit the Dolomites from there . Is this possible? If not what are the alternatives.
Thanks |

It certainly is. You are just a stone's throw away...where are you thinking of going? If no auto, then you'll be able to take a bus/train combo to get to most places.

Ciao G
yes, of course you can, but from MAlcesine i would higly recomend a car. After al... Where do you wanna go? "dolomites" indicates a kind of lime stone and a not so small region... Look at wikipedia for a better idea and a good area map: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomites Probably, the best scenic spot coming from Malcesine is The mount Sella... In winter... (maybe still in april, but i won't bet) you can sky 360° around it... the famous 4 passi of the Sella ronda.... Wonderful! Ciao Francesco

The wise Francesco is correct (and a local). He's right that an auto is highly recommended, but in its absence, you'll still be able to get there via, train/bus. Keep in mind that often, buses don't run at night , so if train...make sure you get their to make your connection before it all shuts down for the night. Can't tell you how many nights I spent at Trento train station having missed the bus to Dolomiti di Brenta area in my foolish youthful days. ;)

Thanks Guys.
I think we will take Francesco's suggestion and visit the Mount Sella. However I am a bit nervous driving in a foreign country espcially in mountains so bus/train combination would suit us best. Any idea where can I get more information about bus/train to Mount Sella. Thanks
