We will be in Parma in mid-March - Is there a way to book a tour of the parmagiano cheese making facility? How much does it cost? It is worth it?

There are free guided tours... but in italian... with a few chances to have an interpeter if arranged from the local office.
Look here http://www.parmigiano-reggiano.it/ and then click "VISITE GUIDATE" on the lower side of the page (i hate tjose flash pages... grrrrr).

I suppose there may be a lot of different possibilities in any of the producer sites

Hi Francesco,

Thank you very much. I checked the website, the tours are only available on Mon-Friday. Do you know any local factory that are open on Sunday?? I plan a trip to the ferrari museum, Maranello on a sunday morning and than visit the famous Parma cheese factory in the afternoon and buy some cheese, than driving to Torino afterward.

Don't have too much time, do you know any local factory that we can visit?

Appreciate your help.

Lydia
