When I visited in August all the tombs were open. However, you are limited to three tombs per ticket and if you want to take them all in you can not visit them all in just a couple of visits, you would need to devote a lot of time to this.

Hi John, I seem to remember reading a post a while back saying that in The Valley of the Kings there are usually only 10 or 12 Tombs open at any given time and King Tut is extra.
Your ticket allows you three Tombs. I would do it over two days. If you want to try to miss the crowds (not foolproof) there are three times of the day to get there. The crack of dawn, and I mean first ones in. The middle couple of hours over lunch time when the coach trips are.....all at lunch. Then 15:00 onwards. So you could see three tombs then go for lunch or do something else, then come back and do another three. One day. And three tombs and Hatshepsut the next. Or something like that. Have a great time. Peace and Blessings.....Jim

I think that all the ticket costs and the variation of tombs open must be variable as I never had to pay extra for my Rameses III ticket... I think it must be dependant on the moon lol...

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is Ramases VI that is extra because they have recently done major renovations.

Ramses III is presently open at no extra cost.
I just visited Ramses I, III and IV. Tut is at extra cost. Everybody told me it's not interesting. There are loads of people at this time of the year. You have to queue up for everything. Nothing like i saw it 8 years ago!
