Hiya, I wonder if somebody can help, I'm planning a trip to Minsk in the near future, although I’ve been repeatedly warned about the dangers with going to such a place because of my ethnic origin. I admit most, well all my information comes from people who have never been there, so it’s really all hearsay, I much welcome a real lowdown on the city.

Knowing a bit Bielorussians, I can state that all those talks are delirium.

Well Andy, you almost right - you may got trouble, because of your polish :-D
DeFacto - minsk - frendly, but absolutly not multicultural city. If you don't speak russian, and don't have guide.... you may lost :) Advise may be typical for any big city - dont drink alcogol with alien, dont walk street afterdark , etc... so.. enjoy!
