Vancouver Where oh where to Stay???
Posted: Tue September 23, 2003 10:15 PM UTC
Hi There

I'm visiting Vancouver for a week next month.
I'm not sure where the best place to stay would be that will give me the most access to what's going on. We're interested in doing the 'tourist' thing mainly, and some good shops and restaurants around would be great also.
Anybody know the best areas to stay in?
Thanks!!!

hello!
I'm not sure what you are budgeted for but staying downtown will have you closest to alot of things (harbour centre, canada place, stanley park etc.) but might be a little more expensive. The holiday inn downtown is fairly reasonably priced (www.holidayinnvancouver.com). If you are on a backpackers budget there are hostels dowontown and in the kits area (one is right on the beach, although it is cooling off here now...) as far as shops and restaurants go check out Robson Street for shops. there are all sorts of great restaurants around town. Feel free to check out my page on Vancouver!

Thanks for your answers guys, I suppose I'm middle of the road budget wise, I've found a great deal staying at the Listel Vancouver on Robson Street, good choice do you think?

Definately! that's suppsoed to be a nice hotel and it puts you right downtown in the action! Not too far from a Sky Train station, within walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. Short bus trips/taxi rides to many attractions. Good call!

Funky Hollywood type suites. Great jazz bar and famous Eggs bennedict for breakfast.
It is at the west end of the shopping area.
It is a good choice.
There are alot of restaurants on Robson st. If you want a water view with a mid range try Carderos The Chili Club, The Boathouse on English Bay ( Crab Fest in October)
