Taipei stopover in taipei
Posted: Mon February 11, 2008 07:19 PM UTC
hi all!

my flight from osaka arrives in taipei at around 2pm, and i travel onward to manila the following day at 1pm. for sure, i want to check out the city during my limited time in taiwan. my questions:

-they have lockers/left luggage services at the airport, right? shouldn't be a prob if i leave my luggage overnight, right?
-how much time should i allot to travel from the city to the airport?
-must-sees and not to be missed in these few hours..
-where can i go in the morning?
-suggestions on souvenirs that are not found anywhere else ;)

thanks so much!

cheers,
michelle

Hi Mitchi, hmm what a pity that you only have about one day in Taipei. There should be lockers at the airport - you can check out their website for more info. From the airport to the city by those big express coach is about an hour. Take Fei Go (Freego) or Guo Guang. man, I really don't know where you should go. Where are you staying for the night? then it's easier to plan your itinerary around your location. If you wanna shop, it's Wu Fen Pu. Stop at the Hou Shan Pi MRT. http://www.trtc.com.tw/e/

Souvenirs? Well, foodstuffs are great actually. Then there's the usual touristy stuff... :)

Hi Michelle,
You are finally going to make it over here!!
Try this Hotel in Town: Freego Bus should take you directly to the Hotel. Its in Ximenting-Food, shops e.t.c. 2 Mins from MRT that takes you anywhere.
Will post more later. Are you arriving on a Weekday or Weekend??

Their Single room does not have a window but is nice and comfortable. I think it is around NTD1080 Nett with Breakfast. Safe Hotel, My Folks stayed there Last october.
