No, they mean REAL river cruise. That is done via lakes, rivers, canals etc.
Very common destination but extremely overpriced in the "West", while in the "East" it's sold for Pennies on the Dollar. Not sure where you start, but UK operators sell these cruises twice as expensive as they are worth and US operators three times as expensive. :((

Proper place to buy this one is from 1000út

http://www.1000ut.hu, http://www.1000ut.hu/ut-hajo.htm (269.000 Ft = ca. 1000 Euro)

or from R-tours:

http://www.rtours.co.yu/programi/krstarenja/volga_moskva_stp.html

(9900 Dinar + 1090 Euro)

Both 1000út and rtours are excellent companies, I can translate you any of these.

You will need to arrange the transport to Moscow on your own (very easy). Most citizens don't need extra visas only Russian. Booking is also easy, contact r-tours or 1000út by e-mail and use credit card.

That means, using a Hungarian or Serbian tour company can save ca. 1000 Euro/person for British, 2000 Euro/person for US customers. So far, not a single Brit or American was cooked into goulash or muchkalica, not even solyanka... Not because we aren't cruel, just merely because there are better ingredients available.
