| Kyoto | Female friendly Capsule Hotel near Kyoto Station Posted: Sun February 10, 2008 12:38 PM UTC
Hi guys! I will be transiting for just 1 night in Kyoto between Kinosaki Onsen and Tokyo. Arriving Kyoto after 5pm and leaving the next morning. So would prefer to stay very close to Kyoto Station. Very difficult to find anymore cheap accommodation so wondering does anyone know any female friendly and safe capsule hotel around Kyoto Station? Of cause it must also be secure for the luggages. Also, any recommendation for evening activities for 2 lady travellers? I've been to Kyoto before, that's why we are not extending the trip to take in all the sights. But I have never been to Pontoncho.. Is it worth a visit? Any other suggestions?

if you don't mind to live in dormitry style , you can try K's house.

Actually I had booked a ryokan near Shijo Dori when I thought I was going to stay in Kyoto for a few nights. However, now my friend just want to do a 1 night transit so I just feel it is easier if I stay right by the Kyoto Station. Also, I've never stayed near the station so it would be a new location for me to explore. I stayed at the same Shijo dori Ryokan before. As for the capsule hotel... just a novelty which would be interesting.

There's no capsule hotel in Kyoto. It's no surprising because capsule hotels are for drunken middle-aged men or busy workers who miss the last train to go home. Kyoto is a tourist city and demands for capsule hotels are very low.
Try Apa hotel near the station. http://www.apahotel.com/e_index.html
