Karlsruhe Travel Forum

On our Euromeet2008 website (in the accommodation travelogue) we have already introduced a couple of hotels in Karlsruhe that might be interesting for those of you attending the Euromeet!

However, we are aware of the fact that the closer the meeting comes, the more deals will be offered on various hotel booking websites.

So, please, be so kind and share your deals and hotel finds here on this thread - it will be highly appreciated by your fellow attendees!

Sorry I am late finding this .
Lori & Hansi have booked a room at the Blankenburg Hotel .
A double room at a cost of Euro 78 per night per room .
This includes breakfast for two each day .
We will arrive on Thursday afternoon 29 of May and we stay 4 nights and leave sometime on monday June 2 .

I have booked @ Novotel Kongress with the 40% discount offer City Break (min 2 nights). Prices are (breakfast included): EUR 69 for a single or EUR 77 for a double. Not too bad from a Swiss prospect ;-).

Do you know if other VT buddies are staying at the same place, I will need a guide to come back after the VT Kneipe crawl ;-)

my statistics tell me that you are the only one (so far) to stay at this fabulous location!

My tip is: walk home with the Blankenburg Hotel folks (which means, you will have to stay up half of the night LOL).... When they turn left to get to their hotel at Kriegstraße, you just walk straight ahead and two minutes later (hopefully!!!) you will see your hotel on the right hand side!!!!

And I am not so sure about LoriPori ,but Hansi don't drink beer and not to much alcohol so I will be leading the ''Pack '' or Tripack in this case (no pun intented Patrick haha .
Together we can move mountains and find our way home without a doubt .

So whats the direction to the Badisches Brauhaus from the Hotel Residenz for our Friday meeting....i know that i have to cross a park or something...might need some guiding back as well i suppose ;-))

This might be help to you guys .
I did a Mapquest search from everywhere I travel from Holland to Karlsruhe by car .

So I did a Mapquest search from the Blankenburg Hotel to Badish Brauhaus and it is from the Kriegstrasse 90 (our Hotel Blankenburg) to Stephanienstrasse 40 (Badish Brauhaus ) .
It takes 3 minutes by Car and the distance is 1.7 KM

So from our Hotel to the Hoepfner Brewery (Saturdays event ) is 4 minutes by car or 2.2 KM
It give you a print out and tells you all the streets you have to go through printed in a Map

Anyone of you can do this by going to Mapquest Europe and then click on Germany and Karlsruhee ..

We have a GPS but itis not working in Europe ,and this cheaper then buying a To Tom GPS I guess

when you're walking to the Badisch Brauhaus you can come and pick me up... I'm right at the Ludwigsplatz (Erbprinzenhof), which is very closed to all our meeting points :-)))

Staying at the Hoepfner Brewery. Rate is I think something like Euro 100 for a single...something like that.

You should expect free beer for that, Giampiero. LOL!

I'm exactly the same, Hansi. Rarely alcohol but lots of food!
We shall find ourselves some nice Haxe or Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut. And Kuchen, lots of that :-)
